Cryopreservation is the freezing of biomaterials for their long-term storage with the possibility of further thawing and restoration of its biological functions.
The material is stored in special containers - Dewar vessels under a sufficient layer of liquid nitrogen.
Cryopreservation is needed in the following cases:
- If you deliberately postpone pregnancy and want to do IVF later
- Patients before undergoing chemotherapy or cardinal treatment that affects the function of conception of the fetus
- Patients who have a history of systemic diseases that have a negative impact on the reproductive function of the genus
- People whose professional activities involve risks to life
- Athletes, as loads and a specific diet also affect the ability to reproduce
If during the IVF process not two, but several embryos turned out to be viable, some of them can also be subjected to cryopreservation in order to use them in the future if, for example, an IVF attempt is unsuccessful. Or after giving birth, a woman will want to do another IVF.
In our center you can cryopreserve:
- Oocytes
- Sperm
- Embryos
Cryopreservation is most effective at an age when human germ cells have not yet experienced the negative aging process.
